who are you and why are you here?
well, you’ll
have to read our bios to hear the full story, but in short we are friends who
met whilst struggling to find our place in the complex world of evangelical
Christian faith. we
are evangelicals by ‘birth’ and are acutely aware that the name of
‘evangelical’ is being contested in our current context. we firmly believe
that the name ‘evangelical’ is worth struggling for, we still wish to own this
name for ourselves and we want to live it out radically
why radical?
radical might
seem a strange choice of adjective to some, however we are committed to the
radical nature of Christianity in all its fullness and particularly in that
stream of it where we find ‘the evangelical’
radical in its
fundamental basis of love – a claim only possible because God is, in himself,
love
radical in its
outworking of this doctrine in our world today – including social justice,
prophetic voice, silent restoration
why evangelical?
evangelicalism is our
‘home’. we
affirm the goodness to be found in the traditional pillars of evangelicalism,
particularly a high view of Scripture, the Cross and a personal relationship
with Jesus.
we are
committed to encouraging others to nourish themselves in the very breath of
life that can be found in the Bible.
we are also committed
to the truth that the Holy Spirit is, Himself, opening up the Scriptures to us
as we read them, they are the living Word of God
